You may have been avoiding going to the dentist for a long time and you know there are some dental issues that will need to be dealt with eventually, or it may be that you do go, but that it is a nightmare for you. Just making an appointment causing your heart to pound, and then dreading the day, counting the hours.
But, it really doesn't need to be this way. Hypnosis can help - and the reason hypnosis is a good treatment for this is that these reactions you experience, they are not choices, you are not consciously choosing to feel and react this way, it is happening automatically because a fear like this gets stuck in your memory and you enact the anxious reactions repeatedly, every time you face it, or think about it. It is rather like the fear is a program running automatically in your mind, and the hypnosis is aimed at changing that program and allowing you to experience things differently, to break the connections and to free yourself.

You will be gently guided into a deeply relaxed state, your mind becomes a little quieter, less thoughts buzzing about, your body relaxes more and more and as the suggestions begin, you can let the works just wash over you, let your subconscious do the listening so the changes can take an effect upon you automatically.
