Is it Normal to Get Anxious?
Anxiety is a normal part of life if appropriate to the situation. We react to things that make us anxious and that is normal, however if the reaction is excessive, it might indicate an issue with anxiety or stress. When you are anxious you may find it hard to relax and may feel like you can’t stop worrying about everything. There are ways to manage your anxiety so you don’t get overwhelmed. You can also read our full guide on how to stop anxiety.
Take Time for Self Care
Trying hypnosis or meditation for anxiety may be a really good positive step for you. It is worth a try if it is going to reduce your anxiety right? When you first try self hypnosis or meditation it is common for your conscious mind to be quite active and for thoughts to come into your mind – This is perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. If you choose to practice this peaceful time on a regular basis you will find that your mind becomes much quieter and you relax even more.
Get Skilled at Letting Go of Anxiety
If thoughts keep on coming into your head when you are trying to listen to a hypnosis or meditation audio, or trying to meditate what should you do? The important thing is not to fight the thoughts, but just accept them and let them be. You will notice them appear, try to not focus on them once you have noticed the thought and it will pass. You can try imagining they are clouds drifting by.
Letting the thoughts just be and not trying to force them away is the best method. If you do this, in no time at all you will find less and less thoughts intrude and you get better at keeping your mind quiet and tranquil. So remember, notice them, accept them and let them go.
Relax and Destress
To gain the benefit of meditation or hypnosis downloads or CDS try to use it daily for about 7 – 30 days. Then use as and when required. Ideally listen using headphones. Results vary, and this is because people react differently to self hypnosis and meditation. Sometimes improvements happen almost immediately and other times it takes longer. Try to keep going with the hypnosis to give it chance to work.
Meditation for Anxiety
Meditation is a great way to relax your mind and body. It helps you focus on yourself and reduces stress levels. You don’t need any special skills to meditate. All you need is a quiet place where you won’t be disturbed. The more you practice spending this quiet time for yourself the more you will benefit from it. Do not listen while driving or doing anything that requires your full attention.
